Biography

Ilaria Margutti was born in Modena in 1971.

In 1990 she attained her graduation diploma in applied arts from the Istituto d’Arte di Sansepolcro (AR) specialising in textiles and printing on fabric. Dal 1990 al 1992 she attended an intensive course for illustration and animated design at the Istituto d’Arte di Urbino.

From 1992 to 1997 she was in Florence as a pupil of the Accademia di Belle Arti, during which time she began to exhibit in various Florentine venues participating in the various initiatives and collaborations between students and galleries.

Following the diploma attained with top marks, she spent some months at Seville art school in Spain before returning to Sansepolcro in 1999 where she now has a studio where she still works.

After experience in the field of restoration, she now teaches drawing and history of art at the high school in Sansepolcro.
