Ricamo a mano su tela e intagli a macchina, 130×80 cm L’UNO- 2024/25

ARCHIPELAGOS

Hand embroidery on canvas and machine-cut inlays, 130×80 cm – 2024/25

Here, the feminine is explored as a latent and transformative force, capable of creating spaces of meaning that transcend rigid dichotomies between presence and absence, fragmentation and totality. Through the act of embroidery, the feminine figures do not assert themselves overtly but dwell in a dimension of potentiality, suspended between appearance and dissolution. They do not appear as lost fragments but as symbols of resilience, resisting erasure and transforming emptiness into possibility.

With Archipelagos, the focus shifts to fragmentation as a form of interconnection. The canvases are conceived as symbolic maps, where oval cutouts evoke islands that, though separate, remain part of a broader relational system. The diptych features two feminine figures, one inverted in relation to the other, establishing a silent dialogue that suggests an intimate confrontation and self-reflection.

The cutouts, while introducing apparent discontinuity, do not interrupt the narrative but instead expand it, becoming portals to a deeper web of invisible connections. The figures, though floating and fragmented, never lose their strength. They transform the spaces they inhabit, generating new possibilities for relationship and meaning. In this context, emptiness is not seen as lack but as openness: a place of transformation where the feminine becomes an agent of regeneration.

The works of Archipelagos invite a reinterpretation of the fragment and the margin, not as signs of rupture but as spaces of relationship and dialogue. Every element of the composition—the bodies, the cutouts, the embroidery—fits into a fluid system that explores the relationship between identity and interconnection. Here, the feminine does not merely exist but transforms and rewrites the fabric of reality, becoming a matrix of meanings that, though fluctuating, retain their power and presence.
